Fig Cake recipe
Ingredients:
3 medium eggs.
1 cup of oil.
1 cup of buttermilk
1 cup of fig preserves
1 cup of chopped pecans.
1 ½ cup of sugar.
2 cups of flour.
1 teaspoon of allspice.
1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
1 teaspoon of salt.
1 teaspoon of soda.
1 teaspoon of cloves.
1 teaspoon of nutmeg.
1 teaspoon of vanilla.
Preparation Instructions:
Beat the eggs.
Add the sugar and the oil to the eggs.
Sift the flour, salt, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves into a bowl.
Mix the soda and the buttermilk
Add this to the flour mixture.
Add the flour mixture to the egg-sugar mixture while beating.
Add the vanilla, pecans and fig preserves to the mixture.
Bake in a greased and floured 13*9 inch pan at 350°F for 35-40 minutes.
